As Emma tries to shut down the machine, she's confronted by a dark, amorphous entity that seems to be made of her own repressed fears and anxieties. The entity, which she calls "The Echo," begins to taunt and manipulate her, blurring the lines between reality and her own consciousness.

In a heart-pumping climax, Emma realizes that she must confront The Echo head-on. She uses her machine to create a virtual reality simulation, trapping The Echo in a digital realm.
